This week I am Thankful For:
{The numbers go with my One Thousand Gifts Journal / Just ignore them}
700 / My daddy. As usual. But this time, for him helping getting some old dead trees down in the front of our yard. They really needed to go.
702 / Back door lock fixed. We have had the hardest time with our lock on our back door forever. Ricky finally couldnt take it any more & pulled out every tool he owned to get it to 'click' smoothly. It's the little things that make life better every day.
703 / WON Rummy. I never never NEVERRRRR can win 500 Rummy against Ricky. He's such a competitive person & he's fantastic at any card game. But the winds for one day, one game was in my favor & I won a game against him. Please note: we've since played 15 other games & I've lost every game since. BUT I WON THIS ONE! I'll never let him forget it too :)
706 / 50 cents off gas. I saw in my Timehop the other day where I was excited gas was $3.15 a gallon. YIKES. I hope it never gets that high again. & if they do, Kroger Fuel points better have triple or quadruple point weekends!

707 / Good organizations that raise money for good causes. They wanted to raise $90,000 for Pancreatic Cancer at this race & they ended up raising over $100,000!!!! Praying that helps in finding some answers & a cure!
708 / My uncle made the race. With him having chemo on Thursday, they were nervous he wasn't going to feel up to it. But he said he paid for it, he was going to be there. I could tell by the end, he wasn't feeling the best, but he did the whole thing. There was a one mile option or the 5k & he did the full thing. I hope others saw that SURVIVOR written on his back & took note of that strength!
711 / Ricky back at MSM. Ricky missed the meeting we had because it was just after his hernia surgery & then he ended up missing the first week when he still was feeling badly but he made it back this past Sunday. It's really throwing him out of his comfort zone to be in SUCH a big crowd, but I know he's going to bless some of these kids... as they will bless him.
713 / JOY Sisters. Told you - I'll always put them on this list every time we gather. But this meeting was great because it just showed me how comfortable we are getting with each other to open up about things & to share in so many emotions. I love these ladies.
715 / My new Shutterfly Tumbler. Isn't it cute? They had a sale a few weeks ago with $20 off & I was curious how these looked. I love it. The only thing I wish I could change? I ended up getting the BIG one. & mercy, its BIG! Like it can't fit under my Keurig & I'll never drink that much coffee at once. I need to see how it does with cold liquid - or even if it is able to hold cold liquid. If so, it'll be my favorite water bottle :)
717 / Leftovers. I love when I have food in my fridge that all I can think about all day is getting home & warming it up for dinner. No cooking involved.
720 / USA & the Olympics. I think with all the shootings & awful news that's always circulating (Hello Trump, Hello Hillary) it's been nice to have good stuff on the tube to watch & to be proud of. It feels good to have people gather to support a common good. Michael Phelps - come on now. We are all cheering him on. & those gymnasts! I love watching sports I would otherwise NEVER watch. I SOOO can't wait for the running competitions to start!!!

What are you Thankful for this week?

Love that tumbler! Shutterfly always gets me in with freebies and then I end up buying other things too. They're smart like that! haha ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the Summer Olympics. Swimming and Gymnastics are my fav things to watch.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about how bad this year has been and how thankful I am the Olympics are this year so there's something positive/encouraging in the news finally! So amazing to raise so much money for pancreatic cancer and so amazing that your uncle did the walk with you guys-- that is so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI have never really been invested in The Olympics (or sports) but for some reason we've had it one every night (and some afternoons)! I can't get enough of the competition and pride and gratefulness that's happening in Rio. There is tons of stuff that happens around the games that I don't agree with (drugs, corruption in the country, animal mistreatment, etc.) but I have been all about these young men and women competing!
ReplyDelete1.47 for gas?! That's awesome! We are still around $2 here.
ReplyDeleteCute tumbler! I've never bought anything from Shutterfly -- but I get discount codes like all the time. I guess I should check them out. Wonderful news about surpassing the fundraising goal! I pray that a cure is found soon.
ReplyDeleteThe Olympics are awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI love your tumbler.
Rub that win in!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an inspiration your uncle is! God bless him. I hope they find the cure.
Your new tumbler is so cute!!!! $1.47 for gas??? I am happy with anything under $2 here! No fair! We have to put up with heat and higher prices? This is such crap! LOL! I used to play 500 Rummy with my mom and grandma all the time. Such a fun game!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing that the race raised over $100,000 for the cause! I so hope they find a cure for all cancers someday. Wouldn't that be the best? I understand that more people in the world have cancer than pets, but I wish more organizations did more to find a cure for K-9 cancer as well! Okay, I know I'm babbling now.
ReplyDeleteI love leftovers. I just had leftover veggie sweet and sour pork stir fry for lunch. I remind myself how awesome leftovers are every time I am getting tired of cooking. Congrats to your uncle! And I like that new tumblr. I feel like it would make me happy looking at a photo tumblr everyday.
ReplyDeleteMichael's mom walked in Relay For Life wearing a survivor shirt and while we couldn't be there, seeing it on Michael's cousins Snapchat made me cry! It was so emotional. Love that your uncle was able to walk the whole thing! <3
ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful that we connected here because your posts always lift me up!! Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteOlympics all day everyday! :) Although I could stand for it to end, as I am staying up WAY to late each night! I need more sleep! Yay for winning rummy :) I haven't played that in a while, I love that game!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Wishing the best for your uncle, it's so powerful that he decided to be there anyway. :) Leftovers are the bestttt! :P XO - Alexandra

The sweetest thing is that your uncle made the race. So much to be thankful for! I totally agree that the Olympics overshadowing the politics has been SO NICE!!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh petrol is like £1.20 a litre here which I think works out to about $7 a gallon?? Crazy. I hate how expensive it is here. Even with oil prices falling, it never seems to get passed on to us!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's amazing that your uncle made the race. I hope his chemo is going well.
There's a guy at work who has that Shutterfly tumbler and it's so cute to see him walking around with it!
ReplyDeleteI love watching the Olympics! They always make me tear up!
