Calling Creative People!

OK - Saturday is the day... the dreaded day - the count down is on.... the Mini-Marathon - 13.2 miles!!!

Against all better judgement, against the injury in my inner thigh (that yes, is still very painful), against the ear infection that has me on antibiotics & caused me to get a shot, against tons of stuff - I am going to attempt it!

The furthest I got to running is 6.5 miles before I blew my thigh out... so this should be interesting. Ricky is going to do it with me... but he said he's bringing his roller skates with him!

I told him I'm packing in my little arm pocket - my cell to call my dad if I have to - money for a cab if I need it - or better yet, money for a restaurant if I'm out there too long - stop for some lunch! I KID!!! Or am I? hehe!!!

But - anyways - what I need from you... I was wanting to make a T-shirt to wear for the day... something creative - something funny - or something that even preaches! Something to go on the back or the front... ideas?

I thought about having something like "Only here by the Grace of God" - which preaches...

Or I was thinking something like "Please tell me to keep going" on my back & see how many people do it!!!

Right now - my thoughts are "God - PLEASE get me through this!"

Share your creative ideas, you creative people!!

  4. OK...here's a few sayings she has on the back of her shirts...

"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift!"~Steve Prefontaine

"Let us run with endurance the RACE that is set before us."~Hebrews 12:1

"The back of this shirt is all you will ever see!"

"Tough times don't last, but tough people do!"

"What doesn't kill you, only makes you tougher!"

"The finish line is not given, it is earned."

    Hope those help!

I think you ought to do the shirt that tells people to encourage you, my idea..."Please yell...'Go Rebecca Jo'!!!"

  9. I kinda like #2...or you couls say something like
"I'm only doing this because I have to: pee, make it to the shoe sale..." or something funny. Some of the other ladies had good scripture choices.

  11. Ok, I am a worrier. I am worried about your health. I know you want to do this now but maybe all these things are God's way of telling you to wait. DON'T BE MAD at ME FOR VERBALIZING THAT PLEASE! Of course I support you and will cheer you til the end of the race. That said, I want to keep you healthy and safe. These races are hard enough for us when we aren't suffering from pulled muscles and ear infections.

Othewise, I like Lynn's 91.. suggestion. That's gonna get tons of laughs!

One last thing, YOU ARE A MUCH STRONGER WOMAN THAN I! YOU CAN DO IT!

  14. I still think the best way to get people to stay running is have someone chasing them all with a chainsaw! Now there's some motivation!

I'll try to think of something creative...but I really liked April's Hebrews 12:1 suggestion!

  15. I love the idea of "please tell me to keep going" on the back. And I think putting a message about the Lord on the front is an awesome idea. Making a shirt for the marathon is an awesome idea.

  19. The front could say
"I thought they said Blogging not Jogging"
then put your bog address under that.
    Then the back could say...
"Clap for me if you love Jesus"

  20. Wow Rebecca Jo a half marathon!!!!That's awesome. I'm sure you will do great. Keep thinking about how great it will feel to come home and blog all about it! Some friends and I are running a relay marathon in three weeks and we've been looking for some shirts too. Here are some ideas we found:---Friends don't let friends run marathons.
---In my mind, I AM a Kenyan.
---(front) Registering for the B2B Relay Marathon ... $138
(back) Finishing the B2B Relay Marathon ... PRICELESS
---"Does this shirt make my butt look fast?"
